I am a born and raised New Yorker. I live, eat, sleep, and breathe NYC real estate. My husband can attest.
 
I have worked with both sellers and buyers in all kinds of NYC buildings, from luxury pre-wars to brownstones to high-rise condos. I was a theatre major in college and this gave me the training to be a chameleon and understand every type of buyer and seller. I understand the emotional stress, and try to make the process a joyful one, regardless of the hurdles. My job is never the same on any given day because each person is different, and, a great real estate agent should know that their job is to keep everyone happy and stress-free. I also think agents forget that we operate in a “no harm, no foul” zone. The seller has the right to get the highest price, and the buyer has the right to try to pay the lowest. It’s my job to keep reminding everyone that these are the rules of engagement, it’s business even though it’s also very personal.
 
One of my “tricks of the trade” is to always have specialists on hand, whether an interior decorator, stager, attorney or a mortgage broker. I consider myself the connector of everything real estate and lifestyle related. I connect those dots like nobody’s business! And, this benefits everyone with whom I work.
 
In NYC we have a special “animal” called the cooperative. In fact, approximately 70% of our purchasable real estate is in coops. You not only have to find the apartment of your dreams, but then you have to meet a committee of potential new neighbors from the building after they have reviewed everything about you, but your blood type, and, wait to see if they like you enough to allow you to close on the apartment. Talk about stressful! Luckily, I’m an expert at identifying those buyers who will “pass” the dreaded coop Board and keeping everyone calm throughout the process, which can take 90 days after you’ve signed the contract of sale!
 
I call myself a seller’s "last marriage.” What I mean by that is I’m an expert at selling apartments that didn’t sell with other brokers. I swoop in as the second or third broker and manage to get the job done. When I come into the mix I am their last broker, as I always get the job done for them.
 
Lastly, I am the most positive real estate broker you’ll ever find. My co-workers, customers and clients can attest to this. My two favorite expressions are, “Everything is great! It's all going to work out, ”and" Easy breezy!”
 
From Wall Street to Harlem, I have sold everywhere. I don’t do this job only for the money, but in great part for the joy of finding someone a new home or helping someone sell theirs. I listen, I care and I really want to make my clients and customers happy, might sound like Pollyanna, but it’s true!
